Yesterday was a high anticipated day. Ever since Madison saw the previews for Disney on Ice we've been counting down the days until THE show. What she talked about most was seeing Nemo, Dori and the sharks ice skating and also wanting to skate with the princesses.
It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and we had yummy pancakes for breakfast. We got ready for the day and then first things first...we went to get a pretty little dress for Madison to wear to THE show. So we went to Green Baby, my favorite baby resale store, and found the most darling dress along with a couple of pretty bows all for under 10! We spent the rest of the day at the park then outside in our backyard in the baby pool and jumping on the trampoline. After everyone was rested and fed we got all prettied up and left for the show....Madison, my mom and me. Max and Daddy spent a guys night together.
We got to the Alamo Dome and walked quite a ways....through the parking lot, down a long set of stairs, under a bridge, winding up a long ramp and onto the line of families waiting to see ice-skating Disney characters. It was all good...the weather was still absolutely gorgeous and we were an hour early so we had plenty of time before the lights were dimmed. Once we entered the building it was Disney galore! Wow, is all I have to say. I can't believe how much they charge for a plastic light up thingie or a "turn around" as Madison would call it. I finally convinced her to get a pretty doll instead of the plastic $22"turn around" thingie that little brother would break in a heart beat. After we made it to our seats the show began. Madison started taking off her shoes all ready to go put on some ice skates to skate with Mickey! Oh, Maddie you are too cute! She didn't seem too disappointed when I explained that it was a show and shows are for watching and enjoying. With every character she recognized she yelled out "Look mom, it's...." Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Aerial, Bell, Cinderella, Snow White, Tinker Bell, oooh and the scary mean lady who gave Snow White the apple. It really was a fun show. Of course going with a 3 year old made it even more fun! There was no Nemo and sharks though so I was a little disappointed since Madison talked so much about seeing them after seeing them in the online preview show. She didn't mention it when the show ended so she didn't miss them.
I thought we had as much excitement as anyone possibly could in one evening until I made it back to my car. That story is a whole other story to be continued...
